VersionCraft is a multi-version export manager for After Effects. Drop in a master composition, pick which aspect ratios, resolutions, and language variants you need, and the plugin builds every combination as a render-ready comp — then queues them all to AE's Render Queue or Adobe Media Encoder.
Built for the everyday agency pain of shipping the same campaign in 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, and 4:5 across 5+ languages. What used to be an afternoon of duplicating comps and swapping text becomes a 30-second click flow.
Generated wrappers nest the source comp instead of copying it, so any edit to the master flows into every variant automatically — no regeneration needed. Language variants do duplicate (so text replacements stick), and a CSV importer handles translation matrices with one click.
One master comp → every variant
Pick your master composition. Choose aspect ratios (16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:5, 21:9, or custom). Add language variants for each text layer. Hit Generate. Every combination appears as a ready-to-render wrapper comp in a dedicated project folder.
CSV import for serious localization
For campaigns shipping in 10+ languages, paste your translation matrix into a CSV — one column per text layer, one row per language. Import in one click, every variant fills automatically.
Smart reframing
Choose how content fits each new aspect ratio. Fit letterboxes the source. Fill crops to cover the new frame. Stretch distorts to match exactly. Pick per batch, not per comp.
Render presets that stick
VersionCraft picks up every Render Settings and Output Module template configured in your AE preferences. Choose them once in the panel and they apply to every queued item — no clicking through render settings 50 times.
Render Queue or Media Encoder
Send your generated batch straight to AE's Render Queue (AE renders directly, honoring all templates) or dispatch to Adobe Media Encoder via the Dynamic Link bridge. Pick the workflow that matches your pipeline.
Source nests, not copies
Aspect-ratio wrappers nest your source comp rather than duplicating it. Edit the master — every wrapper updates automatically. Only language variants duplicate (because the text replacement has to live somewhere). The result: surgical edits, zero regeneration.
